12.12.2006, 15:08 quote

I'm going christmas shopping on friday, and need present ideas for a 13 year old girl.

She doesn't like pink or pretty things, and she already has more make up than me(and that's saying something)

I was thinking about giving her money, but knowing her, she'd spend it on cigarettes!

Any suggestions?

can you give me an idea what she's like? Is she a relative or a friend's daughter?

Well...she's like a younger version of me!

And it's my younger cousin.....she has just moved in with me and my mum. Confused

We spent last week decorating the room for her.....exactly how she wanted it, too

I was thinking of something like that.....but her room is complete.

She's the only person I have left to buy something for....*sighs*

She asked us to paint it beige so she can put up posters and stuff...which we did.

I asked if there were any more posters she wanted.....but she isn't giving ANYTHING away.

That is true......but I want it to be more personal.

I could take her shopping on friday...then i'll know EXACTLY what to get her. She can choose her own present!

fair enough, but what about your mum? like i said, i don' know her, you, or your mum or the situation that brought her there but she may be afraid to "make too much noise" for fear of being sent away.

Her mum is a drug addict, and basically doesn't care about her. Put it this way...my cousin has been in and out of care since she was 3. Only reason we didn't take her in sooner is because there was never anybody around to look after her, but now she's older...

My mum is hardly ever here anyway(she's always working), so it wouldn't bother her.
