fair enough, but what about your mum? like i said, i don' know her, you, or your mum or the situation that brought her there but she may be afraid to "make too much noise" for fear of being sent away.

Her mum is a drug addict, and basically doesn't care about her. Put it this way...my cousin has been in and out of care since she was 3. Only reason we didn't take her in sooner is because there was never anybody around to look after her, but now she's older...

My mum is hardly ever here anyway(she's always working), so it wouldn't bother her.

nonetheless, since she's been passed around a lot she may be afraid of being sent away. Reread what you wrote and keep in mind what i said. i know you guys won't - kudos for taking her in - but she might be afraid you will. Time will of course help that

Well, as long as i'm here, she's here.

And if I do move out, i'd happily let her move in with me. She knows that, too.

Laura, you say she reminds you of yourself when you were younger... what was the coolest thing you could have had when you were her age?

Maybe a framed pic of her fave music interest, or music vouchers if all else fails.
