I saw in a newspaper recently a 86 year old man got a degree in geography.

It's never too late to go back to school..23 years old gaining qualifactions to earn yourself more money? i'd say its better to wait untill your in your lower 20s and can rationalize a little more about what you want to do then choosing at 18, no one truely knows what they want from life till theyre around 25 anyway.

Good luck with whatever you choose mate.

23 is not too old. a lot of young people seem to stay in education nowadays, until not much younger then that. But if its been a long time, you might have to learn again how to learn. Learning isnt as easy as you think.

If you are doing it as a change of, or to improve employement. My advice would be to put a lot of thought into it, and make sure there will be work at the end. Dont just go rushing into something because it sounds good.

good luck

I've had a great first year and I start year 2 in about a month. It's a three year course. I did a-levels years ago (like, 10 years ago) so carried on from there.

I actually stepped back into it quite easily really. I was a bit worried at first but it's all turned out fine.

To be honest, I think it's great that you're going back to school. You have tons of different options being as you'd be considered a "mature" student.
You can do part time, full time, correspondence, online course, night courses etc.

I myself am going back to school next year as well.

Good luck:)

I've only been out of education a year and am petrified about going back. The only comfort being is not going to be the same as a high school environment. Very Happy

Dunno who told you that, but it's the exact same.
The only difference is that in college, everyone is old enough to know better but they just don't.

i always found it a very different experience. Maybe it's a matter of cultural differences between canada and the uk.
I tried going back into education, it didn't work for me, but education never did. I ended up quitting (officially) a month ago and going back into full time work.
If you're sure it's what you really want, and you think that you can get on with it, then do it. And the very best of luck to you. Seeing as this is a few months old have you decided when, where and what it is you're going to be doing?

i forgot about this topic i posted ages ago until now. i went back to education in collage in September doing a course. i was nervous but it turned out that the people were alot more mature and friendlier than in school and after a few weeks i was grand. i had to leave collage tho couple of weeks ago for health and personal reasons plus the fact to i was getting abit tired and bored of doing the course i was doing. imm actually quiet lucky my local Heritage center had part time work after christmas so i applied and got the job. i might go back to collage next year to study history as i love history bu than again if i get a job i might stick at it to see if i want to work for the time been. buts it nice to see more and more people go back to collage or education and its never late to either XD
