Any one in here good at maths, i need lots of help
1. Show how the area under the Time/velocity curve is equal to the distance traveled. A car traveling in a straigh line, accelerates uniformly from rest with a uniform acceleration of 2 m/s2 to a maximum speed of 30 m/s. It drives at this speed for 12 seconds and then decelerates to rest in a further 10 seconds. Find the time spent accelerating, the total distance covered, the magnitude of the deceleration??
Any ideas, solutions

I studied maths at Uni and I've never had to use anything I learnt after the age of about 16!

you really need to draw the graph first mate. Course a car doesnt accelarate uniformly. The answer to what time does two tains would be the 20 mins after your answer. How would the examiner cope with that

i know about the graph but putting S=ut+1/2at.t????
or v=u+at ??? how do you work it out its question 1 of a christmass project

Energy - Mass x Speed of Light x itself?
When will I ever use that and why does anyone need to use that!
15.12.2006, 23:34 quote
I got GCSE Grade B in Physics - the test paper never asked me a thing on e = mc2

god i've left it all night to see if any one got the answer ... but nope .. no one did
the answer is .... 7m - ~ = $ and a 4.. therefore the answer is PIE !

The properties of an object can be found using....
THE MASS OF AN OBJECT X SPEED OF LIGHT (299,792,458 METERS PER SECOND - MpS) = The objects energy
Example lets say a television weighs 10kg
10000 (its measured in grams) x 299,792,458 = 2997924580000 j of energy is given off by the television
If you get into sub energy you can work out how much is wasted in the atmosphere.
