To carry on the thread as it seems to have veered off course slightly...
If you can come across as intelligent or different to the usual, then that's always a good thing

ok, tell me what they want without lying
22.11.2007, 20:45 quote
1) a good sense of humour/personality
2) honest
3)good looking
4)clean (showers at least once a day)
5)smells nice
6)independant
So honestly - money is the last thing i'd look for in a man - although i'll be perfectly honest here, he would need to have a job, no matter if it was minimum wage

wow, quite refreshing to see that not all women are moneygrabbing etc....
as if i did say the man has got to be a lazy slob, the day i stop working or want to stop working, is the day i die, not to say i wouldnt like a holiday
22.11.2007, 23:21 quote
Me too.
Money doesn't interest me all that much.
Heck, we'd all like a bit more hey not saying I actually *want* to live under charing cross bridge in a cardboard box, but I probably would for love......I believe in equality between the sexes when it comes to money in this day and age - and hey I went to the pub with a chap tonight and he let me buy the first round - rock on!

well its just that some girls expect to live a life of luxury when spouting "i need security" marlarky, then go to shop everyday of the week, then expected to be treated like royalty, then dump a person when the cash runs out or make a miserly excuse in marriage to divorce a person

Sadly, you are absolutely right - I know of a few like that.
I think - and hope - that today's culture/society is changing in the way of what women learn to expect from a man - like say in the 50s it was def the role of the man to bring home the bacon so his missus could spend it (that's just a stereotype by the way) - but I still know a few ladies who equate "I need security" with "Have you got enough cash in yer wallet for that lovely pair of shoes to add to my Imelda collection" - personally, the word "security" (when spoken in the same sentence as "my man")
means trust and honesty.
But then, I got fleeced by my previous ex who got me to 'furnish our home'
and it wasnt til after we split up that I acknowledged he never ever in 5 yrs stuck his hand in his pocket -
then skipped off and married someone else and moved her in and left me in severe debt, so it's not just women who do it.....

To answer the original thread question:
- Money / property / car
- A nice shirt
- Mindreading ability
Seriously though, i think its all about how far into a relationship you go. If you are just going out with a girl, then you will find some girls arent that bothered if you dont have lots of money / property / a flash car, but if the relationship gets serious (i.e to the point of wanting to settle down and live together), then i definately think wealth becomes a major issue for alot of women. I suppose it is only natural, as women instinctively want to be with someone who can care and provide for them materialistically as well as emotionally, and for their kids (if they decide to have any).

What and women can't do that for themselves ????? sorry that's the independant women in me ............ i dont ask for anything from a man in regards to money, i have a very good job of my own and whatever he brings to the table, is a bonus. Please dont shoot me girls but i think it's the younger girl who likes the money side of the realationship, i only say this from friends experiences, the older woman tends to more financially independant so dont have to rely so much on the man for money. ............... x |
I agree with you 100% Anne-Marie. I'm more than capable of bringing up my kids alone and keeping up my mortgage payment on my 3 bedroomed home. I think i'd die if I had to rely on a man to do that for me

You took the words right out of my mouth Claudia, dont get me wrong, i'm sure there are some girls out there who just look at the size of a man's wallet. As for me honesty, sense of humour, doesn't need 24/7 attention, and of course knows what he is doing in the bedroom ..................... money does not make a realtionship, or happy in my experience ........... x |
does that mean making the bed up?
