To repeat a quote I think I have seen elsewhere on these boards ScotsDave:
Those who matter, don't mind.
Those that mind, don't matter.

Gee, can't believe i missed this thread!!
I've had 4 relationships, all between 6 months and 18 months. All were older, the oldest 2 being 17 yrs and 14 yrs. Admittedly i've looked a lot older than i really i am since my early 20's - most likely as i was bald by then. I'd love to date someone younger although my last attempt at mailing a 19yr old got me the response: "Do you know my dad or something?!".
But yeah, it's an attraction thing and age doesn't matter. And i'm still open to offers from someone younger....

I was pretty much totally disabled in my twenties and its like everyone has had ten years head start on me. Consequently, women my own age are far more experienced (ex marriages, children, work etc ) than I am. I dont feel confident with them. Whereas I feel more comfortable with women ten years younger. If this sounds confused, its because Im confused by it myself!

im 28 but look and act younger, i've been worried about the whole age thing and who i'd appeal to, until i met a girl Saturday night who is absolutely stunning and to my surprise is only 16. i thought she was older, and she thought i was alot youger so we danced and flirted all evening...more could have happened but when she told me her age i was concerned about it where as she wasn't. hey we're all insecure about things so just ask...all that can happen is one of you say no and that cant hurt anyone!

I seem to connect more successfully with older women who (no offence to the young ones) have a more developed view of life and more importantly sense of humour. I like someones sense of humour to be dark, wry, witty and moreover... dark lol. It is older women who I find have more of this than the younger women.
But then again, the bigger the age gap the harder it will be to have a serious, lengthy relationship. So like everything in life, acceptance of an age gap is purely circumstantial. If you connect really well with someone and feel like it should be more than a friendship then obviously you should go for it but if it feels strange to be with someone that much older or younger than you then it shouldn't happen.
With me being only 17, I either see someone my age or older really for obvious reasons. So i gues im biased from the point of view that there is a lot more people who are older than me and so by odds there is going to be a lot more people who i will connect with but all the same, i very rarely find girls my age who i can connect with anymore.
Any one else experience anything similar?

I've ALWAYS been like that. Every woman i've attracted has been older than myself, and often in their forties. I can honestly say that i have at least 2 admirers at work - one is 45 and married, the other is 38, divorced, 4 kids and in a relationship. It's most likely because i'm a sort of "take no shit" morally correct sort of bloke who knows what he wants from life. That seems to attract more mature women who've had bad relationships and want something more stable, more secure, more loving and most likely they want the big thrill of a toyboy.
But don't knock it, i've had some really good relationships with older women. I'm just curious to try a younger one for a change...

thanks mate, i was sure it wasn't such an uncommon thing. The best thing about seeing older women at my age is that... well quite a few people my age just seem to be on a completely different wavelength, not in a bad way. Maybe im just abit of an old man in a 17 yr olds body lol...
