My youngest was 17 when I was in my early 20's. My oldest was 43 when I was 23. I'm 28 now and prefer younger men for some odd reason!

im 28 but look and act younger, i've been worried about the whole age thing and who i'd appeal to, until i met a girl Saturday night who is absolutely stunning and to my surprise is only 16. i thought she was older, and she thought i was alot youger so we danced and flirted all evening...more could have happened but when she told me her age i was concerned about it where as she wasn't. hey we're all insecure about things so just ask...all that can happen is one of you say no and that cant hurt anyone! Responsing to the original q: Does age matter?

Three weeks ago I would have said no, but I surprised myself one night going out...

Was flirting heavily with this really pretty girl, and we got to talking. I asked what she did, and she was taking her A-levels, "but she was 18". I just looked at her astonished and said that that would make the age gap 12 years...

"But we'll just pretend I'm 22 and you're 27...", she said.

And I just couldn't do it. Walked away.

I guess I've grown up at some point...

So yeah, age matters. Now.

When I was 18 and was picked up by a 28 yo it didn't... So... The answer... I don't know!

ok, yes Tony is only 5 years younger than me, but i do have this cop in san diego that we have been friends for a long time....well last nite he, I and a bunch of us were playing on the poker tables and things got a little ummm,er,well sexually heated as it always does during gutter hour there. He is only 31 and we emailed pics back and forth, lets put it this way OMG what a sexy little stud he is...Italian/Irish and if i wasnt with Tony i would be heading for San Diego at this time....Wow this guy thnks i am sexy as hell too and we do have some good conversations besides the sexual overtones lol. and his ex wife was my age so he does not worry about the age, she was the one lol........so as far as age gap goes....hell with it if the feeling is mutual i say go for it and have a blast

When i was 21 i met a 35 year old ,believe it or not we lasted for six years, but we did have aour problems then again who didnt.
Last relationship there was 4 years difference,,she was younger and the maturity level wasnt even close.
Cant help but think that the last 15 years have all been for nothing.
Summary...
Can a age gap work.
Depends on the persons involved.

There was a time i wouldn't have looked twice as someone younger than myself. Recent events have opened my eyes and made me realise that age really is just a number and i now have a much wider range of choices Wink

Pray tell Lovely Lady what recent events would that be Laughing

Chatting to someone much younger than myself and realising that you can have just as much in common as someone your own age and that not all the younger guys have the mentality of a hormonal 19 year old! Very Happy Finding out that when it comes to it, it doesn't matter what age you are, we all want the same basic comforts that being in a relationship could bring.

Thanks you, you know who you are. Very Happy I'll keep my mind a little more open in future and not delete quite so many of the younger ones that pm me

im just wondering what sort of age gap people think is ok, for example im 31, would a girl in her early 20's consider going out with someone of my age..

i personally wouldnt be bothered to much about the age gap but i know afew people who might, ive been out with afew who are younger than me, about 4 to 5 years and also abit older.. last GF was 37/38.

so whats youre opinion.. ?

old people, don't marry anyone young enough to be your son/daughter.

young people, don't marry anyone old enough to be your granny/grandad.

Umm, surely 'young' people shouldn't marry anyone old enough to be their parent otherwise your 'guidlines' seem a little paradoxical.[/quote]

I dont think anybody should marry anybody..its all pants.

I've heard plenty of people say that, but then gone on to get married again. Some are gluttons for punishment, or maybe just like the ceremony, who knows ?? Confused
