I am sure if you care to participate in some of the topics and get to know the peeps here that will in its self may just lift your spirits, as there ae many friends to be made here. And who knows you may even find a miss right? Wink

Im partly depressed 'cos ive been on my own so long & im sure a partner would change me for the better (it has before)& who knows, keep a full time job maybe. Im actually registered disabled for the moment 'cos of my problems, there only mental but they do effect my concentration & im actually a qualified toolmaker (the kind of job where you need to concentrate) Is there anyone here who can help? Rob

i would date somebody who didnt have a job, especially if ti was beacuse they couldnt for whatever reason!! To be honest if somebody wouldnt date you because you didnt work full time, then in my opinion thats a very shallow reason!!

I hope you manage to find someone to love, and welcome to the forums!!

Hi

It wouldn't put me off if someone worked part-time (or unemployed) as long as they did something useful with their time! I've been very low in the past due to 2 bereavements and it's hard to keep going sometimes. My doctor was a big help but my friends helped me even more. It's important to talk to someone - whether in the caring profession or family/friends. Things always seem worse when you are on your own. At least you're back part time. Take it a step at a time and give yourselves goals each week - even if it's just ringing a friend and asking them to go to the cinema or cooking yourself a healthy meal. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I think working part-time is not the issue?

My housemate also suffers from depression, but as long she takes her medicine, everything is fine.....

Good luck man, I had some problems when I was in my early twenties, mostly due to youth and excess, but thankfully the love of a good woman helped me get back on track and I'm really happy with how my life has turned out.

Tomorrow is another day.

I wouldn't worry man, the most important thing is to keep going, and never be idle, and never cut yourself off. There's a lot of good people on these forums, Im sure you'll find someone.

As for people who validate themselves and define you only by the means of a job, well....they generally are in need of a swift kick up the arse for complete lack of personality. Un PC i know, but it does them (and you) an awful lot of good. Very Happy

Occupation makes no odds to me (so long as its not criminal or anything like that LMFAO)

So no, your being part-time wont be an issue, unless they are amazingly shallow.
