I don't think it's about age, I couldn't care less about any difference. If the feelings are there and they are true, what does it matter?

I really feel it's about mental maturity. I have known 40 year olds that act like immature 12 year olds and 20 year olds that are as mature as a 40 year old. After all, it's the mind of the person that matters most, looks will fade in time but personality lives on.
