I think there are more than one topics on this around here, but...

I have finally reached a decision on what love is. It's nothing but chemistry. End of story. It may not be chemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate, but it's still chemistry started in your body by you brain when you want to mate with someone. The more the desire lasts, the more perfect someone is, and so on, the bigger the chemistry, the bigger the feeling.

I'm not cynical. I could prove it if I were a biochemist.

And in all fairness, that is why I had a problem with confusing lust and love at some point. It's because the particular someone was so amazing that the chemistry boom was huge in my body. LOL

And I disagree with the lust part... Love isn't so different from lust... If it were, we'd all have a better way of defining it and it would NEVER get confused with anything else.

And last but not least, lust is not just being attracted to someone's body... You can also lust after someone's way of behaving, someone's way of thinking, someone's culture and so on.

Love is a word that summarises a variety of feelings and emotions.

The only way to know if you were in love or not is when something drastic happens either to the relationship (break ups) or to the person (death).

The above are only EXAMPLES and pretty poor ones at that. Love takes many forms and has it's ups and downs. It is not the same for everyone or indeed anyone. It seems that it has been 'standardised' over the years but that has only made it all the more complex.

Hell, the above doesn't even do 'love' justice. It does hang around 'chemistry' but can still flourish without it (if I am reading 'chemistry' correctly...).

Anyways... I'm off before I make an ass of such a complex ideology.

You can also add spiritual love to that...the inexplicable spiritual pull.

Lust is when u just think about having love with someone. U dont need love when ur in love. Just being with them is enough. when ur apart all u want is to get back to them and hold them in ur arms. If ur in love and the relationship ends ur very upset and cry and not be interested in anyone else for weeks or even months. if its lust u will move on and find someone else as soon as u can. Im still in love with my last GF and she dumped me 4 years ago. Ive stayed single all this time hoping she will take me back. Havent even looked at other women. But think its time to move on. Ive only clung on this long cause she had my baby.
