Who has the problem exactly? Your race? another? Your friends, who?
I only ask because sometimes it's the person in the relationship that see's stuff around them, or it could be them outside of it that have the perceptions.
I've met different types of people who have different reasons for their dating habits.
I know an asian girl who has never dated an asian guy & says she is only attracted to white guys.
I know a black guy who has never dated a black girl because he says he's into long hair (no word of a lie)
i know a few white girls who NEVER date white guys saying they prefer black guys. Some specifically Carribbean, some African.
Some people just into people so do whatever with no labels. However some i feel actually have a dislike for their own kind, maybe from childhood or whatever i dunno. ppl are different, and it's really nobody's business what you get up to.
A friend of mine says that her Asian friends choice to only date white guys is like her saying she only likes blondes with blue eyes. i disagree with her there because she isn't completely disregarding white guys as a whole. Whereas her Asian friend is disregarding her own race entirely.
Me personally, well I really couldn't give a damn. I've dated all sorts.
When i fish i'm looking to catch fish, not just carp, or tuna. Of course i have preferences, but they aren't based on race or cultural perceptions.

The only time this became an issue was with this black girl i had a few dates with , she took me back to her mums house one evening & warned me in advance that her cousin who was visiting did'nt approve or think black girls should be seeing white guy's for some bizzare reason ! The funny thing was i spent the evening chating to them both , more so to her cousin who i got on far more with than the girl i wanted to date . At the end of the evening i asked her cousin if she approved of me dating her & she said yes ! ( all i could hear in the background was - "you don't need her approval to date me you need mine !!!)

It's our politically correct culture. If someone has a problem with it, I generally just explain - they're lyrics. From an excellent song. Get over it

I've had white, black, hispanic and oriental girlfriends. For me its about the girl, not the race, and to be honest I enjoy the subtle differences between the races. Variety is life's spice for sure.
