a friend told me once while we were putting the worlds to rights after a few 2 many sambucas! if love is blind how can u belive in love at first sight?? would love to know what people think ???

I think it means you can fall in love with someone everyone else thinks is a minger, as long as they float *your* boat, that's all that matters.

So it can be love at first sight, right enough, even if everyone else thinks you must have gone blind to fancy them.

I never took the statement ''Love is Blind'' to be based on looks.....

I always thought it was that while you are in 'love' with someone your blinkered to their actions.....perhaps would turn a blind eye to 'things'....or only see what you want to see.....

''Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'' IS obviously based on looks and personal preferences......

Love at first sight has been discussed but i'm pretty sure its Lust not Love in those instances

love is blind.

it refers to everything else around you, to be in love the emotion surrounds you completely and you can lose your self often accepting things that you wouldnt normally.

i think the term love is blind is used more in a down hearted way, most commonly its used for people who are say an abusive relationship but in their eyes the abusive one is doing no wrong etc.

thats how i see it, it most defo isnt looks related.

I always understood the "blind" to be sight-related.

i always thought that meant .. u were so in love u didnt see what a p**ck he was lol when everyone else did

I always thought 'love is blind' referred to the fact that you couldn't see the deficiencies in people, whether its their looks, character or personalities.

Love is blind refers to women who are so in love, they're willing to risk blindness to provide their man with a facial canvas to paint on.

That's such a wonderously artistic way of putting it...

love at first sight does exist but its based of matching endorphans and stuff like that

That would be more like Lust then i think. I can't see how anybody could be in love with somebody they've just met without getting to know more about them first.
