Heh, no it's one of my office connections unfortunately. best I've had over it is about 80Mbps but that's on a shared 100Mbps LAN, it's a 1Gbps dedicated connection and there's only about 4 or 5 of us use it at a time, my other connection at work is a multi homed 2 x 2.5 Gbps connection but that's shared with a lot more people. My home one is crap but I don't need much bandwidth at home or I'd get work to bung me in a 24 meg adsl line, not much point though.

Technically that may not be the closest on your network, you may be connected to a router that is closer to Dublin in which case the Dublin server might be closer in terms of 'time on the wire'.

my line is underated somewhat cos i had loads of prob with dodgy phoneline when i first got dsl max that bt eventually replaced but i cant get my line retrained. more bandwidth wouldn't be used anyways.

i just migrated off f2s cos of crappy download speeds. entanet is much better cos they reduce everyones speed thru the bt central when a threshold is reached down to a min of 2mb rather than permanently shaping everyone.
