I got so many friends complain to me that their pc is slow, they all use Vista. I stayed away from Vista, it seems to be a bit of a red herring OS much like Windows ME was. I too shall wait and see what windows 7 turns out like. For now i am running an xplite version, only 190mb on the disc, very quick, am using just 1gb of memory.

it is strange. my old Pc had 256 mb Ram. with windows xp and never got any problems....and overcharging my PC with a game that required 512mb ram...
now, hearing that an XP lite is using 1Gb ram, is weird......

I think we are having a misunderstanding here (as per usual ). What I was saying is I have only put 1gb of ram in my pc. what i wasn't saying is that my xplite NEEDS or USES ALL of the 1gb of ram.

Most people who buy a new pc that has Vista installed and only 1gb of ram will find it a bit on the slow side if they start using several applications at once.

Or just make a new partition on your HD, install the Beta, try it, if you don't like it, just delete the partition.

I used a beta of internet explorer for more than a year on my old pc, I actually like that beta version better than the official release that came out later...
