Anyone else dislike Vista and pine for good old XP?

I've just booted out Vista and booted up XP on my new laptop. I know.... I only got one in September. Well it doesn't quite have the grunt for sketchup and AutoCAD so I've had to splash out again

I've found vista was really slow and always messed up after patches were downloaded.

Yeah, first thing I do is turn off automatic updates. Vista seems to be all bells and whistles and the windows explorer layout is painful

24hours after the Vista's "premiere", a romanian computer expert from Canada, told in a conference,that Vista is shit and already decripted in 24h....
nobody belived him...
now we are pushed to buy this shit....
there is no option,unless u pay extra...

got 3Gb Ram on the laptop, 1.2Gb used by this shit.....

I also got a copy of Slax Linux which I also prefer to Vista - despite various parts of it not functioning correctly. At least I can navigate folders comfortably. How much is it to ask?

My all in one printer etc. is incompatible with Vista so I'm not very pleased and have been wondering if I could alter the Vista on my lap top back to Windows XP

oh and before somebody tells me.... there's no other way of buying cables or anything to solve this problem, and I've spoken to Lexmark re-it. Shame really 'cos the printer's great, but I wouldn't buy another one as the company seems to allow it's printers to become out dated too quick.

I must admit that I've consistently avoided Vista since it's launch and because of it I'm almost looking forward to Windows 7 ...

My Windows XP machine is OK but it can take over half an hour to boot, due to constant, random crashes during the boot process.

The last general purpose computer I purchased was a Asus EEE laptop that runs Linux. This is intended to be just for writing, just in case I can actually find the time to write a book. A friend of mine, writing under the name of Jaine Fenn, was published last year and I'm trying to write a better one!

I got so many friends complain to me that their pc is slow, they all use Vista. I stayed away from Vista, it seems to be a bit of a red herring OS much like Windows ME was. I too shall wait and see what windows 7 turns out like. For now i am running an xplite version, only 190mb on the disc, very quick, am using just 1gb of memory.
