If you are/would do a new upgrade, what would you get?
Would you go Intel? or AMD?
What RAM would you buy?
Any particular Motherboard manufacture?
Would you swing to an Apple? "Probably not
"
Nvidia or ATI?
PCI-Express or good old AGP?
I'll start
My next upgrade will be the Intel Dualcore 805D CPU, the one that can be Overclocked to around 4GHz for £80 ;D Which means I'm going DDR2 as well.
I want to go ATI as my next graphics card, I'm also looking at around 2TB storage. I'd stick with PCI-Express, I can still use my dodgy 6800GT while it still has some life left. And I'm not too picky on Motherboard manufactures "although I should be!"

I would swing the mac way. a bit pricy i no but some of the thing you can now do with a mac and the new OS10 are unreal and could only dream about useing windows. There also very good for music if thats what floats your boat

Wouldn't say a Mac isn't any better than a x86-based system. Besides, most of "what you can do on a Mac" is mainly based on the new Boot-camp program, allowing you to Install XP on a Mac. They're no different, if anything, slower, than a x86 system. I dunno, I'm a fan for freedom, and being able to do more etc without voiding a warranty.

Make sure the hardware is compatible.....sometimes some motherboards dont work
in combination with graphic cards or harddisk controllers...
check the manufacturer's specifiction for compatible components/hardware!

Not a big fan of Laptops myself, I prefer the full kit
And I like to upgrade my Graphics card without having to sell/throw the whole unit away ;D
