rite my operating system is windows vista now im no noob when it come to computers so i now quite allot, but for some reason (now bare in mid ive try fixing this for a few months) i cant get anything to update bar norton 360. everything else just wont bloody update, and it all started of with windows update ive tryed going to the webpage and i keep on get "this document contains no data", little help please. Evil or Very Mad Sad Evil or Very Mad

Ah!!!... I knew there was something that I forgot to do!

well this is the thing you see before i even put norton the bloody thing was playing up i do recall deleting avg free version then everything fu**ed up.

I'd agree there, Norton has become very much bloatware lately and tend to get over-protective which causes a lot of speed problems.

Also, as far as free anti-spyware is concerned, give Spybot a try. It's not great but is compact and stops a good 99% of the spyware which is better than most of the subscribed ones you can get.

It also comes with TeaTimer which can be a pain when installing software but gives you a warning if anything tries to alter the registry and allows you to prevent the change.
