Which comedians are the best?

I am really fond of Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Carr, but I have seen their DVD's (more than once), so would like some ideas of who else is worth watching.........

I highly recommend David Hadingham. He's on the Jongleurs and Comedy Store circuit and he is excellent. Happens to be a friend of mine which of course makes me biased! He's a top bloke though and very funny...if a little sick sometimes

I like Jethro, even though he makes me wince as often as laugh - seen him live a few times - the rest I could recommend are dead now. or as good as..... Sad

Adam Bloom is also very good. A thoroughly nice bloke and a big favourite amongst comedians

I have a couple of real funny recommendations for you, haven't laughed so much as I did at these....

Alan Carr - The Tooth Fairy
Al Murray The Pub Landlord - Live at the Paladium.

Both hilarious!!
Cool

Al Murray is great, but his act does get repetitive. Peter Kay likewise. Frank Skinner was very good at his best, but that was years ago now. I see a lot of good, lesser known comedians on various shows on paramount comedy, but its too late and by the time I'm done laughing I've forgotten their names.

Actually, I watched a Peter Kay DVD the other day, and thought that he is a very observant bloke and quite funny, but didn't like it that much.

Now, Phoenix Nights, THAT was funny......
(especially the pissed up horse in the bar) Very Happy

I didn't go too much on the Alan Carr DVD either, perhaps I will give it another try beforer I write it off.

Al Murray just irritates the hell out of me for some reason, I have never even watched more than 3 minutes of his TV stuff, but I'll give that a try too.

Jeff Dunham? Is her the guy with Achmed The Terrorist?
I d/l a DVD of his not too long ago and thought that part of his show was SOOOO funny, the rest sucked though.........

Now Richard Pryor IS a funny guy (or should I say was Sad )

I notice that no-one has mentioned Roy Chubby Brown yet either, he is a bit too extreme for some, but still a talented guy and dead funny....

Yeah, he is incredibly good, if you manage to look past the really offensive language and jokes.
Not a problem for me though, there's never been a joke ever told that has offend me (YET).

There's a challenge for ya.........
