Underworld was some fairly decent, if unoriginal vampire-werewolf action.

I don't think i've seen many others. Oddly enough though, the screenplay i'm currently working on is about vampires.

I love vampire films! I keep arguing about the Blade films with my flatmate. He says the first is best where I prefer the third. He's loves vampire films too. Bit sad but we want to go on holiday together to Romania next year so we can visit transylvania!

Oh yeah! Blade!

The first one is the best. The third one is what's called a "made-for-money" sequel. They weren't trying as hard. Even Wesley Snipes looked unimpressed at the attempt to make it teen-friendly.

Seriously, the third one was abysmal.

I've got them all but found for some reason that alot o females prefer the third. Maybe because it has a female lead?
I've got both the Underworld ones too. Keep meaning to borrow lost boys from my flatmate as I haven't seen it yet.
The version of Dracula with Keanu Reeves in it was crap.
I quite liked Interview with a Vampire.

i agtree with u on everything, dont bother with lost boys though, its crap. interview is the most amazing vampire movie ever, but also like the sequal, but think it would have been better if it was a movie in its own right, instead of a sequal. maybe if it hadn't been called queen of the dammned as well, as she was hardly in it and got killed off really easily.

Hmm, lost boys is ace if you can forgive its 80's teen flick origns... but then I like the buffy movie too so maybe I'm biased.

Blade 3 probably appealed more to females because it toned down the violence, added extra "teen" humour (which combined with the lack of violence essentially made it a spoof).

Also, for a film called Blade - there was only one character leading this film.

His name was Blade. You know, the vampire dude?

In fairness, they've sworn never to make another one. Thank god.

i love vampire movies, but i have to say i hated blade 3 with a vengence.

but i guess i have to do it now to explain why "stand up, hi my name is tony, and i am comic book geek"

i read blade the comic long ago, soo when i see blade 2 and 3 i did not like it, the first one was very close to the better blade comics.

but the 2nd was cashing in, a lot even the fight scenes where not improved upon, with the cgi as soon as one cgi's a fight scene i lose interest.

and i was like at the start i was think wtf, whats this gangster rap music, it was like turning blade the vampire hunter to a member of the wu tang clan.

and the 3rd oh god it gets worse, and now blade hardly fights at all, give the man a zimmer frame

the series is not bad thou

some more to mention; Night watch, vampire hunter d, the fearless vampire hunters are all good fun. Agree the blade sequels were rubbish.

My fravourites though no one has mentioned at all. Mr Vampire and Martin. Both are just awesome. I was obssessed with Mr vampire when I first saw hopping around all day imitating the zombies.

Best film i have seen in a while that features vampires is a Russian film called Nightwatch. It is jaw droppingly good, best special effects I've seen in years. Its the first part of a trilogy, its kind of a cross between Blade & The Lord of the Rings I guess! Go watch it!

i love that film. as the far as the movies go there's 2 so far nightwatch and daywatch. seen em both. awesome. (originals with subtitles).the 3rd one duskwatch is in production. Its the sort of film you have to watch a few times before it makes any sense and the second one helps.

Quote:
Among normal humans live the "Others" possessing various supernatural powers. They are divided up into the forces of light and the forces of the dark, who signed a truce several centuries ago to end a devastating battle. Ever since, the forces of light govern the day while the night belongs to their dark opponents. In modern day Moscow the dark Others actually roam the night as vampires while a "Night Watch" of light forces, among them Anton, the movie's protagonist, try to control them and limit their outrage.
