Dark city

As for the Matrix trilogy - I found the endless fights between Neo & Agent Smith rather tedious, but the rest was good.

My fave comedy scifi would have to be Escape from New York/LA or The Thing.

I agree with all of those as excellent Science Fiction.

Most people see Dark City and immediately think "Matrix" now, which is such a shame. Dark City was indeed, the father of the Matrix.

As a couple of people already mentioned, I would vote for:

Bladerunner: the Director's Cut
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (the scene on the Ice Planet of Hoth is great)
Terminator I & Terminator II
Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country
The Cube (part sci-fi, part horror)
2001 A Space Odyssey (a great film!)
Alien 1

Apart from those I can't think of many more.

In order:

Event Horizon (Nothing I've seen comes close)
The Cube (I wanna go to the blue room!)
Terminator 2 (3 was a let down, 1 was ok, not great)
Barbwire (I like the idea of an apocoliptic setting...dunno why, just do)
X-Files Movie (I just like the X-Files)

PS: "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" was good as a film, but was a HUGE letdown if you've read the books. They should remake the series as it was written tho. Using the marvin from the film

Series' would be:

X-Files (got first 9 season in nice big boxsets and film, all special editions)
Farscape (got all four seasons, but my mate is copying Peacekeeper Wars 4 me)
Star Trek. Vayager (It's the only one I like, my mates obsessed with DS-9 tho)

Can't think of anymore sci-fi series' I follow really. thats about all the geekiness in me lol

Event Horizon was incredibly good. Anderson's only truly excellent film. I found Cube to be a letdown, i'd heard all these great things and it had a fantastic concept - but I found it to be a little bit dull. It could be so awesome if remade properly on a decent budget, in the wake of all these saw-ripoffs.

Also, Barbwire - wasn't that with Pamela Anderson? Hahaha, I didn't think anyone else had seen it. It was a pretty damn poor film, but entertaining all the same Very Happy

Without a doubt, STAR WARS 1 - 6. Terminator 1 & 2 were good but let down by the 3rd installment. Spaceballs is another must to see if you never have before. How about Bicentennial Man (Robin Williams) and Men In Black? Do they both count? Regardless, they are great films in my opinion

onfire

in no particular order

Cube - Cube squared and Cube zero were crap though
Starship Troopers - If your pissed, book's better
Akira - Rogue telekenetis mutants destroy tokyo
12 Monkies - Brad, Bruce and Terry gilliam
Blade Runner (directors cut) - you know they trying to do a directors directors cut

even if they don't top yours you have to watch them anyway
