Do you know where I could find French or Spanish movies online or here in the UK? Have you seen any? What are your favorites?

Tescos do a postal DVD exchange service, with some foreign languages.
Try:

Thanks! Apart from renting and downloads, are there any cinemas here that show these types of films? It would be nice to meet people with similar interests as well.
I know one in Glasgow - Glasgow Film Theatre ... but I don't know of any here in Belfast ...
yeah I know bittorrent is quite good too lol!

You may (or may not!
) have missed the Belfast Film Festival.
But the website has a map of the venues and some these may show foreign films.

Since this thread is all about world cinema anyways, why not recommend your favorite foreign language movie? I'd like to share some thoughts on films I've seen. (some spoilers)
Amelie is probably one of my favorites. It's artistic, intelligent, creative, funny, insightful, charming, romantic. It has such a good feel to it that after watching it, it makes you want to do good. (yeah I know those who also post on the other forum would just probably advise me to watch this movie again lol!). It seems like touching lives doesn't have to be that complicated. It could be as simple as returning a box full of childhood memoirs to it's long lost owner. Or taking pictures of different tourist spots with the garden gnome in it. The film is full of very interesting and witty dialogues about life, love and risks. It would be nice if we see the world through Amelie's eyes ...

Two foreign films I love...
Tell No One (fr 2006)
A great intense and absorbing thriller. No heads in boxes, or live burials. Just a really well contructed Hitchcock style plot, with elements of The Fugitive- yet very French. Feels like finishing a engrosing book in under 2 hrs.
Together (swe 2001)
A super thought provoking film, set in a 70's hippy commune. Never a dull moment, and is not the sexy romp it may appear. Very funny, and also; ultimatley an intellegent, warm hearted and generous study of human nature. By the final scene which is great, it has a similar effect to watching Amelie.

If you ever decide to get Sky there's a pretty decent free film channel on there called World Movies, you don't have to have the movie package to get it either. I've found it it to offer quite a good range of cinema from all over the world.

Keep a eye on screendaily.com or the forums on imdb.com
Francaise
Since the global sucess of Amelie, some people have woken up to it's predecessor (Delicatessen) & were some way satisfied by it's sucessor (A Very Long Engagement), subsequent films have focussed on cultural differences culiminating in the genereal UK release of (Entre les murs \ The Class) whihc was Oscar nominated
Italia
(Il Caimano) has done well though nothin visible since (Life is Beautiful)
Espangna
dominated by whatev almodovar & Penelope Cruz make together, coming in Autumn (Los abrazos rotos \ Broken embraces)
Everywhere else
lods of good things , especially fomr germany, though the last thing majouy thing was the US Identical remkae of (Funny Games) - see the original & neve see it again!
