I didn't think it was as boring as the critics said. In fact, I thought it was quite good.

Little bit too long, and Tom Hanks was pretty awful as Langdon - but not the worst possible actor for the part.

Thought Ian McKellen was superb!

Anyone else seen it?

Indeed he is, he's the only other actor who does the cast any justice.

I still prefer the book, but I think that's because I didn't find the ending dragged on so much when I read it. Watching the ending to the DVC did feel a tad tedious.

Still good though!

Ok book, but Dan Brown's style of writing sucks, and it's a cheap method to keep you reading.

The film I saw in my dream when I fell asleep watching the Da Vinci code was great.

Yep, he's not a particularly good writer - but when you're writing for the masses and trying to appeal to everyone, writing skills aren't really that important - it's his ideas. Even his characters aren't fleshed out very well, but that doesn't stop people liking the book Smile

I thought Angels and Demons was actually a whole lot better, but it'll never shock anyone as much. Hardly a conspiracy really.

I saw it, wasn't too bad but then again wasn't amazing. I dont think the hype helped for its review with the critics Wink

it's true, but saying that - I went in expecting it to be appalling thanks to the critics, and that actually made the film a pleasant surprise, as opposed to be agreeing with them.

Try Angels and Demons. I preferred it, he wrote it before Da Vinci Code.

I actually like the book. I'm not sure about seeing the film, though. I've heard it's crap.

I found the film to be surprisingly good. Little bit long, and I found the acting a little bit... hmm... but it's better than the critics made it out to be.

I left the cinema feeling entertained, which is why I went Very Happy

Of course the acting would be a little 'hmm'..Tom Hanks is in it(I don't like him much)
I've heard Sir Ian McKellen is great in it, though.

I may look at it when it's on sky movies or something. Or see if any of my friends are going to buy the DVD, then borrow it off them.
