What did you make of Cloverfield (if you have seen it that is!).

I watched it last night, and was really impressed, the first film I have seen for ages that did have me on the edge of my seat when I saw it.

I did watch a 'naughty-naughty' version ages ago, that was a cam version, but it didn't work out too well.
(I can't see why, being a film that was itself filmed with a cam )

I really want to see it, so nobody spoil it for me. Razz

Although there is an ever-expanding list of films I want to see and never get round to. Confused

I went into it thinking that it would be total bollocks, but it really is a good film.

Well worth watching.

I wasn't too impressed to be honest, quite like the (small spoiler) bit with the night cam in the subway tunnel though (highlight that if you want to see it...)

It's mostly hype. The acting didnt stand out and the novelty of "cam-like" quality was too easily shunned.

a so-so movie

I think that the acting was meant to suck though, to make it seem more realistic.
(I know, you can't have a realistic movie with monsters in before you say it).

I just expected it to be shit, and was quite pleasantly suprised, even though the ending was stupid...... Confused

Cloverfield had some great aspects but failed to deliver them, Shame.

I enjoyed it.

I especially liked the fact that the bird in the blue (or purple dress) who gets to the bridge in the end (i think) wears those stupidly high gold shoes throughout.

Except for the part where they are running across the roof of one of the collapsed skyscrapers and she has gold pumps on.

I noticed that.

Loved it. Though its definitely one for the big screen.

The helicopter bit gave me some nice flashbacks (fucking cheers!) and had me digging my nails so hard into the arm of the chair at the cinema they pierced the covering. Winner.

If the film had been made in a traditional way then it would have been a straight-to-DVD classic, as it stands it was a unique take on your average B-movie and it just worked.

There was no need for the party scene at the beginning though. Okay, these are the characters... Great. No need for so much padding. In fact it'd probably have worked better if their background was drip-fed to you throughout the film. That way they wouldn't have given away the pecking order of death so quickly.

I didn't really like this film. Not really as good as it thought it would be.

If i was a film critic i would give it 3 out of 5.
