Come on - how many 8-stone adult men are there in the world? That's the weight of a jockey!
And Pedrosa has several times weakened towards the end of a race, even when he didn't fall off. Moto GP bikes are big.
For Sunday's race, free practice saw Rossi as the fastest of the top 3 in the Championship, with Pedrosa perhaps not able to ride at all because of his crash, poor guy.
Still fancying Rossi as potential Championship winner again.
08.09.2006, 15:52 quote
Practice is exactly that, race day is the main event.
We don't know what they are testing in free practice, just like in F1.
I don't take any notice of free practice.
Anyone but Rossi for the win on Sunday.
11.09.2006, 07:08 quote
Not a bad race, pitty the wrong guy won IMO
DIdn't litle Danni do well with a hole in his knee
11.09.2006, 07:13 quote
Pedrosa showed he's made of tough stuff. Good guy.
But how can you say the wrong man won?
Rossi, as almost always, did everything right.
The way he closed the gap on the Ducati in just a few corners on the final lap, then eased past Capirossi as if he weren't even there . . . genius.
Sure, I *want* Rossi to win, but if someone else rode better and beat him, than I'd say the right man won.
Rossi showed he was the best, so the right man won.
11.09.2006, 07:20 quote
As you know Scot I despise Rossi as a racer and not as a person, so it's inevitable I don't want the guy to win.
We have to have someone in a sport we dislike, and I'm sure we all have (sports fans obviously)
I wish the guy to breakdown every race/come 2nd, 3rd or wherever but not win.
You might think I am a little harsh on the guy, I can't help my feelings.
He's a damn good racer, but I dislike him immensely.
Did I mention I don't like him
11.09.2006, 09:01 quote
Yes, you mentioned you dislike him, but if not as a person, then why?
He's a genius on a bike. What's to dislike?
11.09.2006, 09:22 quote
I like to see a race, much similar to Sundays race, but that's not always been the case.
Rossi dominating all the time, it gets very boring IMO, a bit like Schumacher keep winning in F1
Also a bit like Steve Davis in the 80's I guess.
Probably one of my pet hates.
I like to watch DTM and the likes, it's a much closer contest, I just love edge of the seat racing, and MOTO GP hasn't been that for last few years.
I must admit its been a little different this year, but only because of Rossi's bad luck, had he had no bad luck then I feel he would have the championship in the bag again (so soon)
So there is my reason for disliking him as a racer.
11.09.2006, 12:48 quote
But surely what you dislike is when the races and the championship are one-sided? Not the case this year OR last year.
You can't claim the races were uncompatitive last year. Gibernau and Rossi had some *cracking* scraps!
Remember Jerez!
12.09.2006, 08:04 quote
I do, and I also dislike Rossi.
Maybe it has something to do with sports commentators, they bull people up as they are a god, pisses me off.
I'm surer last year Sete went for the record of crashes/falling off, maybe it was the season before which wasn't bad.
As for this season like I say, if wasn't for the bad luck of Rossi, then he would be WC by now.
There has to be someone in every sport one dislikes, and I.........well you know!
12.09.2006, 12:21 quote
Hey, I don't mind you disliking Rossi.
You can like or hate whomever you choose.
I just can't see what your reason is. I don't understand your explanations.
12.09.2006, 13:26 quote
I dislike him and I dislike his winning.
When he wins it pisses me off, hence I am in my element when he doesn't win.
Some of us out there just love to see certain people lose, and he is at he top of my list with Schumie.
12.09.2006, 15:17 quote
Yes, I already know all of that.
But those are just your preferences, not the reasons for them.
12.09.2006, 16:21 quote
My reason for disliking him is, he thinks he's all that and more IMO.
Now you will probably say he isn't, but you now have a reason
I have watched him on more than one occasion when he has not won, but finished on the podium, then the press conference afterwards, he say things like its good for the championship but yet he doesn't smile about it, he seems bitter at not winning, tough, if he don't like it then move on.
I have seen him when he wins and he say the same thing there, yet he is smiling liking a Cheshire cat
.............despise him, can't stand him, hope he crashes and can't race again.
I sure don't have to have a reason to dislike someone, you can dislike someone on sight but you don't have to have a reason.
I loath the guy, I wish for him to go and retire with Schumie, that would make me more than happy.
I feel I need to go take another antidepressant

Um, he's won 7 championships! He actually *is* all that and then some!

That's pretty darned evil.
Think we should leave this one alone now.
17.09.2006, 19:05 quote
Rossi is a god on a bike..he has skill ,talent and it comes naturally to him..
by no means is he boring to watch..many races he has had to show his stuff and come through to win..not like schumy in F1 at all..the battles this guy has shown us are incredible..
blimey, this guy even changed bike manufacturers and still shows the talent he has got..love watching this guy..
