Is it just me, or is anyone else really underwhelmed by the olympics?

It doesnt interest me at all, infact most people I know havent said a thing about it.

I think it will become more talked about as we head into the athletics more, especially when the women's marathon is nearing.

I'm looking forward to watching more of the cycling, maybe some of the boxing finals and the finals of the rowing.

A second British gold medal in the pool, and an incredible world record swim at that, well done to Rebecca Adlington.

Great performance from the men coxless four, clawed their way into the lead with about 300m to go and pulled away for a half length win.

Great stuff in the cycling, Burke coming from well down in his bronze medal race to cruise to convincing victory in the last lap. Wiggins as expected bagging the gold with a time that no one else got near all week.

Then on to the Sprint race and Chris Newton getting bronze after a strong ride, so close to silver but a good ride nonetheless.

And then the kierin and we claim a 1-2 with Hoy looking fairly unchallenged for gold and Edgar finishing strongly to grab silver.

Later on we've got a certain gold and silver in the women's pursuit as we've both the finalists.

Thought I'd just add that it's nice to see us really pulling our weight in the paralympics. The swimming in particular has been excellent. ATM we are second only to China in the medal count.

Now that is fantastic! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

The paralympics is the only bit I've seen on a friend's telly.
It just happened to be on when I went round for a quick chat. I got glued, yep Eda the swimmers are amazing....
Other than that, what's the olympics?! Never watched it in me life really! Zero interest.

I must admit I find it amazing how fast and skillful people can be in sports despite of some pretty massive disabilities.

Just waiting for the sight-impaired darts now Razz

Never say never Ed.
I used to take blind people bowling.
(they rely on a sighted person telling them what to do).
And didnt some blind guy recently get stopped driving? His mate was his passenger 'eyes'.
I love to see disabled people - no matter what that might be, physical or otherwise - push the perceived boundaries and challenge themselves, same as anyone else in the olympics really.
