Well seeing how it's only a friendly, I don't see why he shouldn't get that 100th cap.

If it was a qualifier i'd be more concerned as he's past his best now.

i feel for the guy cos i think hes been one of englands more consistent performers over last decade even if he aint the most technically gifted.i always felt he would have been more suited to a central midfield role especially in his veteran years.

I have always thought he was over-rated.

I think it's time to give Barry & Bently a shot in the England squad.

personally i think beckham is an over - rated, undertalent tosser who'd be more suited to acting than playing football - although he can't even take a dive right. The blokes an idiot and a waste of space on the pitch.

just my 2p's worth.

Good to see some Barry love there Laura. He looked assured yesterday, nothing spectacular but did his job well.

As for Beckham, he was far too eager to please yesterday, trying to cover every blade of grass(which he can't anymore), wheeling out 40yard crossfield passes for no real reason to no real end, and capped it by getting himself stupidly booked. Let's draw a line under him now eh?Not that Bentley pulled up any trees when he came on mind...

It isn't 'Barry Love'....

I just really hate Lampard! Laughing Razz

Bentley is still young. He can learn. Besides - who else is there?! Nobody!

Bentley looks to be the best prospect to take over from Beckham who is now finished. He's a similar type of player, and Lennon and Wright-Phillips, the other two options are not consistent enough.
When Bentley joins Liverpool in the Summer, he'll be an England regular.
