Stan Bowles crossed my mind, he was a good players and it was a probably a mistake Revie not playing him more often for England.

Problem with Duncan Edwards is its only anecdotal evidence, as I'm not sure he achieved much as he was young when he died. But Bobby Charlton said he was the best player he ever saw, and Charlton played with George Best and against some of the best players in the world including Pele.
