If you meant me, my PM service doesn't exist. All contact goes through my social secretary (not sure who it is anymore, last time I checked it was Kizz, but I think she is quite busy with her own social engagements now).

Hehe
I was just going to pm you darkhorse to tell you I think your yorkie is so cute.
Didn't want to get told off for going off thread on the other forum board.

Ah, Darkhorse doesn't answer his messages on FB anyway, he's a lazy git. He only pops into the forum every now and again to see who's been doing what (or who) and then he amuses himself elsewhere for a week or two.

(And whilst I was typing this, I missed the ending of 'Sleepless In Seattle' Sad )

Who said men can multi-task? Razz

I could have typed this, watched the ending, read a book, knitted a jumper, fed the cat, done the dishes, loaded the washing machine......well ok I exaggerate somewhat, the cat would have to wait til the rest was done, cuz I need both two hands to open the catfood tin.......

My computer faces away from the TV (deliberate, otherwise I'd never get any work done).

Ha! Between me and thee, I don't even have a tv, so the only way I can watch a film is to stick a dvd in my computer - so I wouldn't be able to watch a film and type on the computer anyhoos!!

Oooh, I don't have a TV either, it belongs to the dog. She does let me watch it sometimes, but thats usually after a domestic row over who pays the bills. She particularly enjoys watching the Paul O Grady show between 5 and 6 in the evening, I think she fancies Buster.

I think paul o grady used to be a woman? or at least a drag artist, Lilly summat? And i guess buster is a dog on the show?

For some inexplicable reason, the last few days any time I try to message anyone by going on their profile and click "send message" it freezes up my whole computer.
So I am sorry Cazzabee, I can't pm you.

Anyways, just want you to know that I do not have an issue or problem in any shape of form - it was meant as light-hearted banter - hence the big green cheesy smiley and all - but my humor obviously fell flat.
That's the problem with the written word, one can't inflect real emotion.

Without sounding churlish, I really couldn't care less who says what where on here, its all just a bit of fun after all, no offense meant.
I do apologise that you thought I was having a pop at you, far from the truth, I was having a laugh to myself.

Oh I know - (where's that groany smiley?!) sometimes late at night if its just me and one other person pingponging back and forth I think "maybe we should take this to msn instant messenger. In the morning any newbies will think it was a private forum" Confused EVen if we ARE staying on thread.... But then you can't exactly say "well, I'm not going to post anymore cuz its just the two of us....." Maybe I should allot myself just say 4 posts per day and be rigid about what I say where? Heehee. That could prove interesting!

Could somebody please tell me what is offensive about me using the word '' to describe someone's not-altogether-caucasian's hair?

Without rambling, if you want to know more I posted summat about my heritage/upbringing in a thread somewhere about inter-racial dating.....

I was born and bred "in the bush" in Africa and didn't even know I was "white" until I was about 11 yrs old.

I can honestly say I am probably the least racist person you will ever meet, I've done my bit for racial equality rights dahdedah.....

Now, this political correctness is getting really ridiculous.

Who was I offending? And why? How?

My Nigerian friend (who is as black as the ace of spades) calls her hair "...... hair" - I would never use that word myself cuz it would of course be a very rude thing to say.

But "" is not offensive surely?

What was I supposed to say?
Does anybody know what the politically correct term is for short, black and curly without me sounding like I'm accusing poor Leona Lewis of sporting pubes on her head?

It was ...... hair the last time I mentioned it (before now).....What the heck else was I supposed to say?

Edited by Cazz to remove offensive words

With all the good intention in the world, the word is no longer in common use when referenced to race or racial features. It is commonly accepted that the term should be avoided because of its association with racism and race science.
