Been reading some of the ideas put forward recently!
Instead of creating new forums why not have some regional topics added? and perhaps a topic where grumbles and groans can be aired openly without fear of censure! Obviously we need to ensure that abuse and foul language is kept out of a grumbles and groans topic. say that this topic is used only where a grumble can be aired and discussed within reason! |
Well, if you want to start a regional thread in "anything else" specifically for say, Scotland or Ireland - feel free. I wouldn't sticky it though, as if everyone created a regional thread and expected it sticky'd, the forum would consist of many.. many stickies.
Anything else is still fine for a grumble, and is used regularly for such. You won't get censored for airing opinion, it's just that the reason we don't discuss moderating decisions - is because things like the recent events happen.
Although I may have missed the point - has there been something you've complained about that was censored?

one point though with no sticky on the thread there is still the possibility it will disappear the whole idea would be to give a regional thing to people who have asked for it! |
As I say though, say you have a "Scotland" regional thread, then there would need to be an "England", "Wales" "South Ireland" and "North Ireland" threads.
With 5 threads locked to the top of Anything else, plus the several threads that are already locked there, it'd be much more sensible just to have new forums - otherwise the place will literally be a dozen locked threads, which makes viewing the page very unpleasant
But as Toby said - he wanted 20 people to put their name to a specific regional forum before he'll open one.
If you start a regional thread, and it's really popular, i'll sticky it for you. Sound fair?

Totally Swiss ill try one and lets see how it goes! |
Totally, i'd suggest killing two birds with one stone - use the search function on the site to find women in your region, and recommend the thread to them!
It's an icebreaker at least
