I want to know what's going to happen to this. Does it get either officially sanctioned and user access controled (and NO I am NOT interested in how in here - save geek-speak for elsewhere) or is it stopped.
Reason in case you don't know toby, some muppet was logged in there recently as me.
For the rest of you, who else have they been impersonating? Does anyone you thought you were getting on with suddenly turned a little funny?

Does Toby actually know about this site or was it set up by one of the users?

It was set up completely indepently of FB. I don't think its anything to do with Toby.

Ah right, ...something the person who set it up needs to deal with then, i think Toby has enough with sorting out his own site without dealing with someone elses lol

I had just found the thread after it was locked and I think scuba has a v valid point. Unfortunately, as I think he is now aware, there is next to nothing that can be done about it. I think it should have been a case where the initial thread "advertising" the unofficial site was probably deleted.
In saying that there's nothing stopping people privately inviting others to a "site" for chat or as soneone suggested using msn for 1 to 1s.
People will link the "unofficial" site with the "official" site and unless there are proper controls in place it could screw things up, royally.
But if it's being dealt with we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh for crying out loud, can we not all stop going on about this now. Your username has been banned Scuba and in approximately 7 days the IRC chatroom will be password protected so that if you want in then you have to know the password. The thread has also been locked. Its all a learning curve at the end of the day and people are allowed to make mistakes. People are human after all
If you could get more than 8 people in the "official" ones in here and you didnt have everyone saying "A/S/L" or "fancy a fcuk?" then maybe we would use the ones on here. Would that solve the problem of it being quiet on her????
Anyone want to build a chatroom where the users have complete control?? Can someone build one where you can have an unlimited amount of people in there?? Will Toby link it to the site?? Lets all put our money where our mouth is and instead of complaining about it, offer solutions to solve the problems as YOu see them.
I personally prefer using IRC to MSN as I dont have to give out my email address if I dont want to and I dont have about 20 convos going on at the one time (which happens when I sign on MSN). Most of us on there (I think) now have our usernames registered so it should stop anyone from impersonating us.
