In general: If anyone manages to start a subject concerning a particular region/area or town and you get at least 20 people from that region/area/town to join the discussion I will be happy to add one!

I do not want to add thousands of areas right now as most of them would probably stay empty anyhow.....

you could maybe have south west.. wales, north east etc and see how that goes.. and then you add the towns that are most popular and go from there

Much like the lesbian forum being restricted to girls, these Local Area Forums need to be restricted to people only from that area - as in they won't show up on anyone else's forum screen. This'll avoid excessive amounts of wasted space on the forums, as even though I love those feisty northerners, or those from the south west - they're not from my area, so it wouldn't be "my" local area forum.

We also have the issue that this forum isn't exclusively to the UK - I'm assuming LAFs would only be for the UK to start with?

thats all well and good but im a northerner who lives in the south west.. so i would like to meet people from my home town as well as from down here

and some people may live in one area but work in another..
