I know this may sound churlish! Would it not be an idea to devise a new symbol for our gay members???? That way everyone on FB will have an idea when they browse pics who is not interested in their particular gender!

I kinda get what you mean - but it does say on people's profiles if they're looking for guys or gals.

I suggested Gender symbols before for the forums, as people without pics - it's impossible to tell their gender.

But if your photo browsing you have to enter the profile to find out whether they are gay??? a different symbol would cut the amount of time you find yourself looking at a persons profile when they dont wish to attract messages from you gender? Plus the number of remarks about the percentage of lesbians would deminish because men wouldn't look at the profiles? aso it would make the profile views a little more accurate????

Ahh, photo browsing - i'd forgotten about that. Seems like a valid point and a good suggestion. It certainly won't stop men complaining about the percentage of lesbians on the site though. They'll still complain!

Simple solution...

add a symbol/s after their age to show who they are looking for.

eg: user name 34

or
user name 34

or
user name 34

Nice job, didn't think about the 'Now Online', was thinking more about adding it to the 'Browse Pictures' option.

the symbols are only on the Now Online section at the moment. Not on the suggested Browse Pictures.

I think there is some confusion as to the what was originally asked as the suggestion ?

The problem is when you view 'Browse Pictures' from the Options Menu and if you select Women from the first drop down menu it displays ALL the women on the site which includes both straight and lesbian. But until you click on a photo you have no idea which is which. Which is why the symbol needs to be added as I showed above but JUST under the photos displayed,
Or as was also suggested add a few extra filters to the first dropdown
to filter out lesbian and gay members who's photo are displayed.

Did you alter the code again for the "Now Online" list ?
Think it would be better to have the users geneder symbol on the Left hand side of the name and weren't the names in the list also in red or blue text ?
It now shows all the names in black text.
