As a matter of interest, I revived an old thread for a laugh at http://www.flirtbox.net/anything_else/the-regulars-on-the-board.html but I wondered if there were any ongoing FB romances of any kind? Sort of difficult to keep track with all the comings and goings here.

Ah, there are a couple of those too. Funny enough, they are often less hush hush than imagined.

Hey, Kizz, you and I had a bit of thing for each other once, didn't we? I'm sure it was you. Maybe it was just a Crush thread thing, it's a bit difficult to remember what was real and not at my age

Slightly off-topic (but it is my thread hehe), but sorry, that 'distance thing' reason is usually a cop-out reason. If someone really wants it to work, distance means diddly squat, and if the distance is really a problem, one of the people could move - if they want that relationship badly enough. I have never met anyone who used the distance reason honestly, there was always something else as the main reason for not sustaining a long distance relationship.

Having said that, I suppose it depends what kind of relationship someone is looking for, or what status they give the relationship they are in.

I went to meet a lad I met on here a couple of weeks back.

He picked me up from the tube station and dorve me back to his house where we spent the day watching movies and saying "er....so what should we talk about now?", and laughing about how crap we were at making conversation.

I wouoldnt say its a romance, but hes a very nice chap and I look forward to seeing him again! Smile

I have changed my views on dating sites in the year or so I have been coming on them, Some of the older members might remember I was a bit cynical and dismissive of dating on the net. But I can now see the role it has in modern day lifestyles.

What changed my view was a few months ago I become close to a women, and felt really lonely when she told me she had to go away on business [probably shagging ] for a few days and wouldn't be able to talk to me. I couldn't believe I was missing someone on the net. Probably the most lonely I have been in my adult life.
Not many people know that...probably not her either Surprised

I now know you can get to know people very well by chatting to them online, even fall for them, Which has been an eye opener.
But I agree with Darkhorse, distance is no object if the two people want to make it work.

There are a few women I think are nice no fb, and all the women on the forums...and two in particular I think are absolutely lovely, they probably know who they are

How can you be crazy about online persona's ??

It's OK C, you don't have to suck up to me just because you tried to end another of my threads

But annmarie5988 did have a point about both parties having kids. But then to some extent logn distance would never have worked anyway, would it? The whole long distance thing hinges on at least one of the parties not being tied geographically or emotionally, otherwise there's not much point in the first place, surely?

I've had a few long distance relationships and not once has the distance been the breaking point.

Back on topic (yay!) but also relative to long distance. my current lady friend, an FB 'romance' as per thread title (no status given to our relationship, so lady friend is appropriate) lives in London, and I don't mind travelling up there when she summons me Laughing

[But I certainly wouldn't use the distance as a reason not to see her, I went into it with my eyes open in that respect. If the 'friendship' breaks down at all, I'd hope that it would at least be for a reason that was out in the open]
