Ah.....I always make sure I appear happy and well to people, even if i'm screaming on the inside.

maybe that's part of the problem?

Staying at mum and dads xmas eve as always (dont wanna wake up to an empty house on xmas morning Sad )

Rest of the festive period will involve working and alcohol and my birthday in between too which will mean more alcohol!!!!!!!!!

Cazza - when's your Birthday? Mine is next week ... .28th ..... always a good excuse in the lull between christmas and new year for a good party!

As for what I am doing - my mates have rented a cotage in butt-marry-nowhere and I am planning on going there..... although knowing my sense of direction I will still be driving around Oxfordshire looking for it come boxing day!

Laura,

I just read back over the rest of this thread ...... well done you girl for sorting out a councellor!

The hardest thing about seeing one is the first time you go! Think of it like talking to someone at the bus stop ..... you know when sometimes you tell a stanger things that you cannot tell all the people you love and remember THEY are getting paid to listen to you ... so even if you feel it sounds trite to you just get it out!

Secondly ..... if you do not feel like you are 'clicking' with them then change them! You are totally within your rights to do that!

I had a little blip about 12 years ago - the world just got on top of me and I saw the most wonderful woman called Theresa (she was the second one - the first wanted to pidgeonhole me!) 8 weeks later (that was all it took!) I walked out of there and changed my life! I have never looked back! I have a great job, great friends and I am now who I always wanted to be!

I am such an advocate of councelling, it should be obligitory for everyone!

Thirdly (and then I will shut up!) new year is a great time for new starts - make some changes, get rid of the people and things in your life that make you unhappy, there is no better time to start!

Wishing you luck babe and I know you are going to have a great 2007!

I saw a councellor that specialises in younger people when I was 13/14, that did help me, so I know all about it.

I find it extemely difficult to open up and talk to people I don't know. UNLESS I feel comfortable with somebody.

At least i'm optimistic about one thing.........Next year can't be as bad as this year has been! Or the year before.

And finally...Thank you

Laura just being honest with you ...... theres nothn worse than someone unhappy at xmas ....... but only you can change it ....thats if you really want to

That is why I am desperately trying not to be alone this christmas.

I spent all of last christmas crying, and that definately isn't good.
If it's any consolation Laura, I'd be doing the same this year, only I have to put a face on for the girls. I know they'll flow once I get to bed
