Sigh, I guess I might as well start the ball rolling. I'm curious to know if anyone i've been chatting to turns out to be someone completely different!

I've had actually no problems with people i've been chatting to in regards to "fakes", but that's because i've only really been chatting with people - never anything sexual.

Do people feel they could share names on this forum? Or are they worried about repercussions?

They are easy to spot after a while, but only name I can remember was one called Mila - I dont care about naming names if they are after scamming me or taking my cash!

She was apparantly from Middlesbrough, then suddenly in York, and then Leeds - moved as soon as I mentioned I knew the town... Anyway she ended going to Nigeria on a buisiness trip and terrible things happened there and needed cash to buy back her passport to get home....

One thing I would say, is anyone saying there going on a business trip to Nigeria is trying to steal your money.

I am not sure about Russian women whether they are trying to scam you or not generally, but I had a nice e-mail from one - not a flirtbox member, another site - who just sent me the form letter and left in all the prompts to change (example [add name] type of thing) - very funny!

Like I said, if I come accross any more, I dont care about naming names....

That's good. I think everyone's just a bit wary of naming names at this stage, but this is a good start! Thanks for sharing.

Well there might be no way to prove someone is definitely genuine, but there are some people on here who give out fake numbers, use fake webcam feeds and use porn for their images. They'd be considered fakers and it'd be nice to know who they are!

Just a quick update - a friend worked in Banking and his info is that Western Union bank is the choice of bank of criminals and scammers.

Its based in America and clearing cheques to there takes longer. However, your bank will show the cash on the cash machine as uncleared so you assume you are going to get it. You feel safer then and send the money order (they never ask for a cheque, your cash goes instantly and you cant get it back). Then their cheque is bounced or cancelled and you are out of pocket.

Anyway, Western Union bankis the bank of thieves. Tell the scammers that and accuse them of being a thief and see them panic.

Spoke with 2 females (allegedly) on here one called Lisa Fele and one called Mary Pills <--- yeah right Rolling Eyes

Mary Pills has moved from London back to Africa and also her name changed to Helen Harker, she wanted to come and look after me etc etc, then asked for money, she didn't get a penny out of me.

Now then, Lisa Fele is still on my YIM, she used to live in Kent but had to move back to Africa because of her modelling assignments Rolling Eyes if that really is her then she is a very pretty woman.

She again wanted and still wants money from me, but she won't get any.

I still speak with her (it/him) just to annoy really Twisted Evil

The Nigerian scammers are funny to mess with. If you can be as evasive as they are with you, and yet still dangle the possible hope of cash in front of their face, you can mess them around for weeks. Until they finally get bored.

I managed to convince one that I was a big rockstar over here, and that I couldn't give my phone number because I had just moved into a new mansion, and it wasn't connected yet. Asking really strange questions at the end of the e-mail is fun too. Like 'Are you interested in astrophysics?', or 'Do you like blancmange? I do'.

Brilliant Tenrie

Perhaps we should have a new post - things to say to Scammers to confuse them? That would appeal to my humour. I might ask people that later.

Scammers are funny and you can have fun with them, pity though that one day someone will be taken in by it all and loose cash else we could point out who they are and all have a laugh writing to them?

I had a new one today. Was suspicious that 25 year old woman was interested in me, but okay willing to say hello. The second email was contact her via an email address. (Hotmail address including the name Justin???). Very suspicious I queried back why shouldn't we comunicate via the messages here. Have not had a reply. But since this morning two people have added this person to their favourites. I have reported this to the administrators, hopefully they check it out.
