Anyone know what these people want except for sad lonely old men? do they scam you with a sob story once you reply or spam the poo out of you?

These e-mails are Scams and they are mostly trying to get cash from you.

Typically they write to you for a few weeks then ask for cash for any of these:
To apply for a visa to come and visit (they have fallen in love with you by then)
To Pay for someones medical expenses
Because they have a huge problem (passport stolen or locked in a safe that needs a deposit to retrive it)
that type of thing. Anyway, they are after STEALING your hard earned money.

One odd one I had once (Only had 1 scammer from Flirtbox however), was asking for my UK address and my full name. I assumed it wassome sort of identity fraud so I sent back 'Eric Bananaman, 19 Accacier Road...

I think the warnings about never sending cash to people you dont know and giving out personnal details and things are valid

there might be some more scam messages around at the moment as I am currently collecting some more information about the origin and the typicall phrases so that the filter is working better afterwards.
