I'm guessing that there's some rules of thumb?

I'm not familiar with this whole thing, but I'm guessing that messages that have no identifying details, that say "I liked your profile" rather than "I saw you were a militant anarchist" or whatever, are all scams?

In other lives I've played scam-baiter but I'd just like to get a feel for these things.

Personally, I'd more expect annoyed messages like "I saw your profile and think you're an asshole" than the sort of stuff I've had tonight, but I'd appreciate someone confirming this.

Might be the Jack, but I'm all cynical.

If their usernames end with "4u", contain a firstname&surname or something....it is probably a scam message - don't forget to report the profile in question in that case.....

About 80% of female scammer profiles end with "4u" or "4real"

I have a username on another site with 4u in it but i'm no scammer

And sorry LV, no offense, but "xyz-4-U" is just ssooo cheezy - like the fellas who put "69" as a suffix, they make me cringe!

I got this yesterday.
Hmmmm, good try....but if they knew what a grumpy, uncharitable, cynical git I am then they wouldn't have bothered. Maybe 'mum' should've got the medical insurance sorted out for her one kidney beforehand (unlike everyone else there).
Of course I reported it as a scammer/junk mail immediately.


Please I need your help. I know that you don't know me and that we are but strangers however I would be very glad if you can help me. My mother is hospitalised for renal failure. She has been treated with dialysis but it has been abortive. The doctors says her kidney is bad and she must undergo organ replacement operation. This is very costly besides mum does not have medical insurance like most people here, so we have to bear the costs ourselves. I get ALOT of messages from scammers on other site's I've tried, including cam-girl's as well as girl's from Nigeria, Russia and elsewhere. I find these people usually give their e-mail addresses in the first message, the Russian one's are usually long and professing their love, and the cam-girl's dont usually say much, just ask you to get in contact. One way to tell these e-mails is they often say they like your profile. Go to "who looked at my profile" and if they didnt look at it, chance's are their fake.
