I'm sure this has been asked before. Problem is I'm nearly 27 and until recently I thought I'd never been on a date. Apparently I have, but I didn't know and just thought it was a couple of friends having fun. So now I'm more focussed, how would you like to be treated if I took you out?

Treating a woman with respect is a good start...and be interested in what she has to say.

Being yourself is good, too.

Don't be an absolute saint either, if the girl wants a bit of fun don't do the sensible gentleman thing and remain above it (that fecking noble trait killed my chances for years Evil or Very Mad ) If she wants a snog, or tries a flirt, go with it. If you don't it will annoy them just as much as you being a sleazy git.

It's ALWAYS a good idea. NO point in letting someone think you're someone you're not 'cos it will come out in the end. And would you want someone to behave differently to you?

I did it for too long in my 2nd marriage. Tried to be the person he wanted me to be. I lost too much of myself, now if someone doesn't like who I am, that's their loss.

Ok, if a guy pretends he is a nice guy on a date........then turns out to be a complete asshole...you'd rather that he'd been a complete asshole on the first date, right?
