No, one of the things I will be glad of when I finally get a woman if I get a woman will be an end to searching for someone to go out with which takes up so much time and effort. I am fed up of trawling public places looking for women to chat up. I would love to be able to relax instead knowing I have got a woman when I want to be with her.

Just wondering guys, if you were dating, and i mean not online but actually going out on 'dates', would you still be looking for someone else, actively on the net or wherever? Like if nothing had happened with your date?
Its like, ive had a few experiences with girls, who appear to be still actively seeking someone else, whether it be online, or in their normal everyday life! Are they just players? Or are they just using me until something better comes along? Or is that just the way it is? Mmmm? |
It seems to be the way some do it, others don't. It's not something I ever did, I wouldn't be comfortable with it, but... each to their own.

Must admit...im not a big fan of the text thing. One of my worst habits is not texting people back. Would rather have a real face to face conversation with someone. Can usually read the situation better |
Yeah, ive met a lot of girls like that, but i thought it would make u feel great if a guy seemed that interested, that youd text back? I always grant people a text back or email if they send one, its common courtesy, isnt it? [/quote]
Doesn't work like that with everyone. I've gotten used to my fellah not sending texts back. If i want a reply, I ask a question.

Yes, because there are just as many bullshitters and timewasters in real life as there are on the internet. There are lots of people out there who don't know what they really want, and if they do they certainly don't know how to go about getting it. The dating game has always needed a good shot of honesty up its arse. If people were a little more honest and a little less inhibited (not just sexually, you perverts!) there'd be a lot less time wasted and possibly less people actually playing the dating game in the first place.

It is a game, and thats where half the fun is, but some people manage to stretch it to the point of incredulity. I like the chasing around, its mentally stimulating, though when you're up against someone who you know damned well is up for it (in whatever form that may take) but just won't make that little step to take it further then its time to abandon ship.
Whether its their inability to be honest with themselves, lack of initiative (which should be a crime punishable by imprisonment in my book) or just plain old fear, if theres no reciprocation then its time to move on. Of course they may not even like you anyway, but why keep someone on hold? If thats the case they're a control freak who isn't worth the time of day, let some other poor schmuck bolster their ego for them.
So yes, the game is great fun, but at times it just seems like unnecessary fucking around. Especially when all the signs are there. Having spent enough time on the sidelines seeing people who just need their heads knocking together and being told to 'just get the marry on with it!' and being cursed with indecisive, insecure timewasters myself (which is really horrible when they have everything else going for them) it makes you a little jaded towards the whole affair.
Chase by all means, but don't be led on.

Hmm. Maybe that did come across as overly negative. There are some decent people out there, but they're few and far between. I think the problem is that 'the chase' and good old-fashioned prickteasing sit either side of a knife's edge.
Prickteasing is great, both parties get a little something out of the bargain. Its incredibly flattering if you're on the receiving end, and the woman can breathe a heavy sigh of relief and say 'I've still got it! It never left me!', but you have to know where to draw the line. If it carries on too long it sets alarm bells ringing (providing you're not letting your crotch do the thinking). If the only reason you're around is to prop up someone's self-esteem then make like a tree.

I'm just glad my boyfriend has the patience of Jobe!! I wouldn't have made it passed the first hurdle other-wise. I was as insecure as hell initially and would take a step fprward, but 1 and a half back.
I think the older you get, the harder and scarier it is.
