I've never had a girlfriend and I'm kinda nervous about getting one. I definatly AM attracted to girls (and guys but mainly girls) but I'm worried I'm going to fuck it up because I'm used to being with guys.
Do I have anything to worry about ?

Can you mess things up? I don't think so, at least not any more than anyone else can mess things up at any attempt at dating.

Go where women expect to date other women (finding a local lesbian bar is probably a relatively simple Goggle search) and take things from there. Be prepared to visit the place more than once if you don't feel confident enough the first time.

Ah, if only there were bars where women expect to date surreal intellectuals ...

I think that many bi or lesbian girls might be put off by the fact that you actually feel the need to verbally clarify your like for guys as well, rather than just assume that by mentioning bisexuality it it obvious that you have a preference for both sexes. Although there is nothing wrong with clarifying, at 16 years old it hints at still experimenting with your sexuality(and the more callous might even mention insecurity with which direction you might want to lean towards). It has been said here before – at 16 years old you also run the risk of being labelled a victim of fashion bisexuality.

We used to have a female bi sexual regular on here [probably more then one], who used to give good advice on issues like this. Its probably what you need.

The search here isn't very good at the moment, but maybe you should try that and see what has been posted in the past on this issue.

Good luck.

Its no different, I mean there are differences as men and woman have different hormones but its the same in that you go out, find some one your attracted to, talk to them and go from there. After the first time you've done it you'll wonder what you were so scared of and there will be no stopping you, unless you then realise it wasn't for you of course.

are you the next Doctor Who?

And yes, pretty much what the others said, just do it and enjoy it and learn from it. It's the same with most things. Except circumcision...

The question of sexuality aside, you're encouraging a 16 year old to go to a bar?

Maybe a young person's drop in centre for gay and lesbian people, would be even more appropriate. These kind of facilities exist. I have to admit that I didn't notice the age of the poster.

You get the addresses for these kind of things from Citizen's Advice centres, libraries and the like.

In essence time spent on researching places to date an appropriate person is time well-spent for all of us, not just young women.

Your still very young Danni, ..I don't think you should be labelling yourself one way or the other just yet. In a few years you will probably have a totally different outlook on things.

Posting your question in the girlsweb part of the site may actually get a better response than you would in here though as it will be answered by women who have gone through the same situation as you.
