Hey all, just stumbled on this place and it seems pretty cool so I thought I'd say hello. I'm a 24 year old dude living in glasgow, really just looking to have a chat with you peeps and see if you are all as friendly as you seem :p
Currently off work for a week, managed to peel myself away from Jeremy Kyle for 20 mins.

I know a lot of people say that going online is a good way of meeting people but I usually find it a lot easier to communicate in the real world. I think there are loads of nuances such as nonverbal communication (eye contact, body language, inflection, tone etc) that you don't get through text. Wonder what you all think, I do notice that there are a few members (no names lol) who say things that frankly make them sound a bit weird. I guess maybe they just are a wee bit odd lol.

Anyways, hello all Smile

Well that's a coincidence! I was just talking in another thread about the absence of non verbal nuances in online communication, although you worded it better than me...
It certainly makes communication strained at best- I find that my particular brand of charm doesn't translate too well into this medium.
Ho hum....

Oh, and hi by the way Very Happy

Thanks peeps, this IS a really friendly place! I had been on other forums years ago when I was a student and all you could see were arguments and petty squabbling. I'm sure this place will have that too somewhere lol
