I think it's also easy to build up a picture of how you think that person is........which could be way off.

Oh how wise that statement is!

My advice - do not chat for months and months and months ......... if it is at all feasible meet relitevely quickly and take it off line! Chatting for hours on MSN etc is no substitute for actually being face to face with someone and it is amazing how that person who is so articulate and seems to be able to match all your dreams on here just does not have the click.

If you have been chatting for ages then it does feel like you are mourning the end of a relationship!

I'm different from Pol on this one ... I'd rather talk for a while on msn then web ,, then talk on the phone .. your going to know pretty quickly if you dont click , saves the embarrassment of meeting and hating the person, which is very awkward

Ian - which was the site were you received all the messages?

I kinda fake-signed up on one which sent me tons of messages, even though I hadn't entered a single detail or uploaded a pic on my profile.

So anyone looking at it had no idea how old I am, where I live, what I like or do, or what I look like.

So obviously the messages I was receiving were totally fake, just designed to get me interested.

Be interested to know which site you were on.

The site was http://www.plentyoffish.com/ and theyre all genuine.
