Hey,is it only me that gets 'freaked out' by guys that mention they're GOD FEARING........I just think that's the sign of a scammer, but other people have told me that's what they believe. So, what's it supposed to mean in terms of the type of person they are?

it means that they think fearing god is a quality, and they are usually weird, and probably very confused. extreme ones don't even date non-religious(by religion i mean their religion) people.

Thanks.... yeah, I have to say, I think they're more frightening than most people I come across and it certainly isn't a quality I'd be looking for in a guy.

If they're somewhat decent people (not scammers and cuckoos), it probably means they take religion very seriously and are looking for someone alike.

I think it means they are saying that they try to live their life as they think god would want them too. But quite how they think god would want them to live their lives is open to some very loose interpretation, but each to their own eh? Smile

I have to admit if I see anything religious I skip the profile. Not because I think it reflects on them, but it's never something that I've been able to understand, although it fascinates me.

That's probably a good idea..... I have met some real religious nuts in my time but I have to say the Pentecostals are the scariest..... and a Pentecostal Minister actually attacked my son, ripping his shirt off his back once because he didn't want his daughter to speak to him...... and did she have some awful stories to tell of her upbringing!!!!
I guess I'm a bit biased 'cos they're probably not all likely to attack folk so readily....

The ones who attack people are most likely to have a vengeful God, who smites people for even daring to ask, 'But why?'
Is this the same God who is all-loving, all-knowing and all-forgiving?
Is this a psychotic, multiple-personality God?
'God Fearing' sounds like an oxymoron to me.
You've got this God and you are afraid of Him?
Why? For Christ's sake! Get rid of Him!
Get yourself a God who is forgiving and loving. Go down Tescos now and get yourself one who won't roast you to a crisp for taking the wrong turn coming out of Milton Keynes.

Haha!! I like the multi-personality God prayer

Generally anything to do with God on a profile and I skip. I have a few friends that are religious, and they're great people, I just dunno, I've had religion shoved in my face since I was a kid and I just don't really want anything to do with it. It's not that I think they would shove it in my face and try and get me to believe or whatever, but I don't know,, it juts makes me go, oh no!!

I'm in agreement with those that will skip past a religious profile.

It does sound a bit mean, but I have a genuine dislike for organised religions and it would be hypercritical of me to pretend to care about someone else's religious ties.

Having 'faith' in something is fine - good, even. But following religions that have clearly been altered and changed over the years to suit those in charge is frankly a bit mental!

Church Of England - what a joke!!!!

"I fancy a divorce, so we'll add that to our religion. Aaahh.. that was easy..."

Well 'God fearing' seems a more prevalent term in America. Whether they are religious nutcases, or their god is a bit ferocious, or their road layouts are worse than Milton Keynes, or it is just a phrase, I don't know.

From my point of view, fear is a negative emotion. Seeing as God is supposedly everywhere, that's a hell (or heaven?) of a lot of negativity! Surprised
