yup does not surprise me at all im 5 miles from windsor, hense the reason i have to rent as i would need at least 20k deposit for a 1 bed flat or 30k for a 2 bed which i need

30k on a bank account is worth 130 pounds per month...on a savings account with 5,5%

Then think about how much interests you would pay on the mortgage.....and then compare it to how much your rent would be.

Also think about money you need to put into a house or flat ..repairs etc....

If you get a mortgage for about 120k you end up paying about 600 quid per month purely for interests...and you loose 130 pounds per month.

For 730 pounds you can also rent something...or even a lot less!
