Thought I'd start another poll since I started a thread about vasectomy Smile

Contraception......which one do people here use? Any reason? As with the Vasectomy thread, we are talking purely about contraception, not the risk of STD's

There aren't enough options in the poll, people might also like to discuss:

Different, depending on circumstances
None
Other

I used to be on the injection.

Was going well up until a year into it, turned me in a crazy ass godzilla like creature with no desire but to scream at everything with a heartbeat, and the odd inanimate object.
I didnt want to make myself look pretty, I had no libido, and generally was a wreck.

And of course being such a young age was concerd about what it was done to by body.
Just over a year since I came off ti and my periods have only jus come back.

I feel like a woman again Very Happy

Have yet to have sex whilst off it, but its going to be condoms for sure.
I need to get myself to the clinic and get chcked out as I could have anything. Its a scary thought, and thinking that I could have passed something on to somebody else is sickening.

I've been a stupid girl.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Rubbers all the way!

Condoms are not always a viable option, which I won't go into it here as would be saying the same thing as I said in the Vasectomy thread (another thread in this forum).

So i read...

If condoms were not an option, and I were in a loving relationship I'd be prepared to try a differant form of drug controlled contreception, however very cautiously and talk it through with my doctor.

The nurse at the clinic used to ask me in, turn my ass into an archary board, then send me back out again, not asking if I was doing ok.

Not prepared to konk my body up more than it already has been.

Very good point, but I guess it depends on the age of the couple and whether or not they might wish to have kids later in their relationship. For me the issue of whether or not I do something permanent at this stage of my life is not such a drastic one as it might be for someone that you might meet (I assume that at 18 you might still have ambitions for a family later in your life).

Im on the pill, with my ex we just used that as our contraception method and im sure that would work again in a steady happy relationship, never done me wrong. Condoms are good when you need them as well tho.

Condoms are just fekkin horrible.
Spoil the moment having to put em on.
Loss of sensation.
Caught me pubes in the rolly-up bit before which aint nice.
Obviously theres the prevention of catching stuff - fantastic, but i'd rather be shagging someone 'bareback' who I know to be 'clean'...example; committed relationship after tests for STDs.
So I voted for 'the pill' but also on the list is 'the coil' or any 'chemical contraception'....oh and 'the sponge'....lol

Im definetly a condom person-mind you i have had the same problem of catching pubes on the rolly ring bit eeeehhhhyowww!
Unless I knew a person was clean like myself I would not do it without one at all-you never know what you could catch these days!
Withdrawl method-me pulling about before the best bit-no chance!!!!
Talking about loss of sensation I remember reading in Dear Deirdre in the Sun a few days ago that a guy actually couldnt last WITHOUT a condom! How weird is that?! (and before you ask it wasnt me who wrote the letter-mines has still to be printed!!!)

Condoms all the way. Not only is it safe -- I know I put the condom on, I'm not relying on anyone's word -- I find it desensitises just enough.

I never had a problem catching my pubes in the condom before I started shaving down there. Now... well, I feel safe. Wink
