i always thought the cure were like one of the most mainstream of the goth bands - but cos of the type of music considered goth nowadays, the young'uns don't realise that it doesn't have to be heavy metal guitars or 90 a day smokers voice singing/shouting to be goth.

I'm getting sick of these stupid pre-teens in town thinking they are goth because they listen to crap like linkin park.

Goth has very little to do with any particular kind of music, its more to do with attitude to life and how you express yourslef, yes you do get goth bands who protray that, but theya can usually be classed in any number of rock genres

I agree with the above, Goth is defo more a attitude thing I know so many Goths here they are 30,40 and older to them its a way of life. This is not to say I disagree with other posts just that Goth is a whole thing?
