If god took em from their families for ANY reason, then he is not only evil by any moral standard that we have and a jackass to cause such pain.

I would MUCH rather believe that they just died.

You can’t just call god an evil jackass! Surprised
Heresy! Heresy!
Toby could get upset and your account could be terminated on Flirtbox! Razz

Assuming you mean some other God…
We humans can’t be capable of understanding the moral standards of Gods and unless we were, we can’t say whether or not He is a jackass.
(Whichever One He might be! Razz )
Ever tried to explain to a chimpanzee why you have to fill out tax returns? It’s not easy.

You’d rather believe these people just died. And why not?
Others want to believe that God took them for an angel. Why not for them too?
Is yours, somehow, a better belief? Confused
And – if so – how do you weigh one against t'other? Confused

I CAN call him an evil jackass because we have moral standards. We judge things by our moral standards, and we are judged by his moral standard (supposedly) so it MUSt resemble ours.

EVEN if it doesn't resemble ours, it is irrelevant. We have words that mean things. Immoral, evil, jackass for instance.

In our own terms of reference, he is all of those things, and since we have no other standard with which to judge him, that is what we have to go by.

He is eternal and selfishly wants to kill someone 'cause he simply can't wait the microseconds (with his lifespan it would seem like microseconds) to have him die a natural death?

Seriously?

We accept without ANY evidence that a magical being says..."Hmmm, I know that killing this guy will cause untold pain and suffering to a number of people who I created for love (supposedly) but I want him with me. I WANT HIM!"

KILL!

And our answer is...

"he needed him, its ok"?

My belief is not a belief, I simply follow the evidence and there is none that supports anyone outliving their own bodies.

Belief without evidence is merely superstition, and apparently superstition about an evil immoral jackass of a childish murdering god.

Smile

Have a great day!

Thank you! I always do... I'm a little god and I make my own days.

I'm also a practising atheist, who does a little devil's advocating on the side.

How can you be a "praciticing" atheist?

That is like being a practicing non football player.

You jest, my Lady of Petewawa! Laughing

Do I not spend every second of my life in my temple?
Do I not live my life according to my beliefs?
Do I not say The Atheist's Prayer?
Were I a Christian, would you deny me the right to be called 'practicing'? Confused
