How important is music to you? Should your perfect match listen to the same music? If so, what kind of music is a must for you?
17.03.2007, 18:12 quote
no, but my perfect match must have a passion for music..
i actually like it when you have diff music tastes as i love hearing new types of music
17.03.2007, 19:28 quote
no, but because i like music from quite a few different genres i can usually find quite a few common interests with partners when it comes to music. i do think it is important to find some common musical interests, otherwise it would be annoying if you are woken up on a sunday morning by your partner blaring out some music you detest lol (it has happened to me enough)
although i love 70s punk and old school hip hop, i listen to all sorts like reggae, indie, ska, pop music, drum n bass, trance, 60s rock n roll, 90s dance music and loads of other stuff so so the chances of me finding someone who doesnt share any of my music tastes are quite slim i would have thought?

I have an eceltic taste in music, so not really a problem..
why would music be such an important part anyway? does that mean they would also have to like the same TV programs too? I mean, I like MotoGP and other programs which i wouldnt expect my partner to like...
End of the day its all about give and take..the fact that Claudia loves McFly and plays it constantly doesnt bother me a bit..LMAO..(joke btw)

No it is not important to have the same tastes in music, well to me anyway.
I have a huge variety of tatses when it comes to genre, but i guess that is down to the fact that singing and writing lyrics is a huge passion of mine.
Someone having different tastes or disliking some of the stuff you like makes for good disscussions, keeps things interesting.
01.04.2007, 16:41 quote
Would not bother me - I have no specific taste and listen to most things!
Only thing I could not deal with would be the music mafia! They just piss me off! So what if someone likes cheesy pop, rap your thing? good on you. Wanna listen to Cliff Richard or heavy metal, enjoy it and feck what other people say! Music seems to cause more snobbery than money sometimes!
12.05.2007, 21:22 quote
i dont mind what music a potential partner likes to a certain extent because my music tastes are quite broad, as long as they arnt very closed minded to different music. i can enjoy a night out at a punk rock night but also at a hard house and trance night, plus alot more inbetween that. somebody who limits themself to a certain type of music or a scene is perhaps a bit less open minded when it comes to music and appreciating its many forms and ways of making us feel.
there is also music snobbery amongst those that feel they are somehow better or there music is superior because they listen to what is current and fashionable at the time. its always good to explore and enjoy new music but for me music is just about how it makes me feel, wether i am trippin out to some 90s trance classics or doing the pogo at my local punk/rock club, i am just feeling it.

To me it doesn't matter that much, although it would be good to have some common ground.

I don't think it is neccessary to like the same exact music, but liking a few similar bands is nice
14.05.2007, 17:39 quote
They'd have to like a wide range of stuff & like listening to new things, but I think it'd be daft to be too bothered if they liked all or mostly the same sort. I think music is too personal a thing to be that demanding. It'd be a very good thing to have at least some crossover taste wise, though.
