David Soul - Silver Lady

makes me cry even though I love this song. My dad bought this for me when I was a little girl, and me and my dad had our dance to this at my wedding, I cant hear it now without getting all soppy and thinking about my dad. He isnt dead or anything, but Im closest to him than anyone in the world. And that song is me and my dad. (I'm playing it now...wahhhh, lol f*cks sake my eyes are filling up)

Well, I can't listen to anything by Snow Patrol now.

But one really important song to me is by a band called The Arrogants. Always makes me well up a bit.

"nobody's cool".

nobody's cool, we're all the same, you're not a player, life's not a game
don't you think it's time we left high school behind
you're not a stud, you're not the man, you're not a pimp, and i'm not a fan
your misogyny is just a plea for l-u-v

the only thing i've seen that's cool in my life is a mom who loves her child and a man who loves his wife

your two tattoos don't make you tough, please quit the act i've seen enough
you say you're different but you all end up the same
just be yourself, don't fake the geek, don't say you're random or a freak
dude you're not punk rock, we're all just human beings

the only thing i've seen that's cool in my life is a dad who loves his kids and a man loved by his wife

nobody's cool, put down your nose, i don't care where you bought your clothes
can't you see it's time we left high school behind
cause it's plain to see we're all just human beings

Bah! Even reading that has set me off. I'm such a woman.

You're not cool enough to be allowed to hear the song.

Looks like I got the link wrong, try this one.

I can't listen to Snow Patrol because of the memories it brings. I always share too much music and when things end I can't listen to half of my stuff because of the memories. Snow Patrol seems to be one which has really stuck in that place though. Perhaps it's the tone of the voice or the fact they're Scottish, the same as my ex?

INME - Her Mask

Man alive, such a beautiful tune, has me in tetters

I could cry, my time has come and I am stupid and forever sad,
Is it you God telling me to go away,
Is it you God telling me to leave this place,
But I thought I could combine with you,
And I need you all the time,
And I thought it was ok with you,
Her mask is in my dreams at night,
But I thought I could escape with you,
Planet asylum keeps me down
I could cry, my time has come and I am stupid and forever sad,
I could cry, my time has come and I am stupid forever,
You amaze me more than you could know,
And I need you all the time,
Laying stars you make me dream of bliss,
And I've loved you all the time

Oh and a lot of Sam Cooke stuff can make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. "A Change Is Gonna Come" being a prime example. And "Many Rivers To Cross" by Jimmy Cliff.

Ah listening to it now, its a beautiful song - I bet you'd like that Karamelian album I talked about, its a similar sort of thing.
