Just list the 5 most recent new albums and/or singles that have introduced you to someone you've not really listened to before.

I like. If I wasn't already busy when they were playing in London at the end of May I'd be emailing people to get a few people to go and see them, assuming tickets were still available. Alas I'm off out west to see a friend near Bristol. Oh well ....

Ms Bee's recommendation is next on my list.

Keep them coming

I predict BIG things for this lot. I downloaded there demos early in the year and saw them live in Manchester in March, and believe me its a brilliant live experience. Give the songs 'My Mama Said and 'Safe In My Mind' a listen. They're called Sketchbeat.

I'm happy and sad about it. I'm happy to find new stuff, but sad that two of them are playing in London on the only weekend (so far) in the next two months when I am busy.

my find of the week....'goldie lookin chain' in the 'help the aged' charity shop Confused , which has been amusing me very much whilst driving to and from work for the past few days.
I only picked it up cos it was there, and liked 'Guns don't kill people, rappers do' which was the charting single, but the rest of the CD has had me hurting with laughter in places Laughing thoroughly recommended if you can deal with the solidly welsh accent and 'local' references, and the swearing, and the drugs talk, and the outright disgusting filth, and cheesy 80's nostalgia, crap rapping etc etc etc....lol

Hailing from Manchester, The Beep Seals are already an established band in the area due to the fact that they're a combination of ex members of respected Mancunian band Alfie, and members of the backing band of Manchester's talented songsmith Jim Noir.

In a summer for the last couple of weeks that has been largely dull and rainy we could all do with some summery music to brighten things up. I suggest you take a listen to The Beep Seals.

Suggetsed first listens: Tell Your Friends, and She Sells Sea Shells.

I was talking to someone on the website and they claimed that he was one of the rappers from Goldie Lookin Chain- I don't know if I believe him though... His favorite song of theirs was "Your Mother has got a penis" Laughing

I love new music too, but never have anything to suggest! I'll have to check out all of these though Very Happy

Me neither lately. I tended to rely a lot on the flatmate in my last house. Now I'm living on my own, I need to find things for myself instead of bugging her for bands to listen to. Between this site and elsewhere, I have so many leads to follow

My hard disks are mostly full now, though. Between being a geek & loving music and films ... 200GB just disappears so fast! I'm going to have to get some space ASAP.
