Anyone listened to them yet? I had them down as a kooks rip off (and I don't like the kooks) but seeing as every one has been raving about them I copied the album last night....Very, very good! The best debut album I've heard in years! Go listen if you havn't already!

Noooooooooooo. Why waste a thread on this overrated tosh. These, The Fratelli's and The Enemy are just over hyped NME tripe that really get my back up.

If you want some actual talented new indie bands to listen to just give me a nudge and i'll be happy to point you in the right direction. Wink

Aha! Now thats what I thought before I listened and thats why it took me so long to give them a chance and I'm pleased to say they won me over!
I dont keep up with all these new bands because most of them do sound like overated NME SHITE, hate the fratellies, the kooks, bloc party etc. I'm a musical snob and a classic indie fan i.e stone roses, smiths, echo and the bunnymen etc and I don't succomb to the usual trends... but....seriously...The View FUCKING ROCK MAN!!!
On another note...point me in the direction of some other bands as I've been out of touch recently!?

I'm into quite psycadellic stuff at the moment. My current faves are The Beep Seals. Also listening to a lot of The Loungs, Paul Steel and Jim Noir.

Other bands i'm listening to are Sketchbeat, The Wombats, Mumm-Ra, Bromheads Jacket, Brandon Steep, Waxplanet and The Belgrave Scandel.

And I always have to save a special mention for Milburn as i'm a mod on there forum.

Not all are new but all are certainly not main stream. And they are all easily found on myspace so I hope you can find something out of those that you like.

The View are OK, nothing more. Not a bad album tho, downloaded it a while back, only for my son to nick it!
Prefer The Cribs myself these days.
